Much conspiracy theories, speculations and rumours spreading like wild fire not just around the island, but also from the neighbouring countries.
It has been quite awhile since Mas Selamat bin Kastari escaped from ISD and the hunt just keeps getting tougher and security getting tighter.
What caught my attention was that most of us, Singaporeans do not see this as a tragedy, but just another unfortunate event that will subside one way or another.
I see people making jokes about the guy, vandalising the posters, and one bugger even called the Police and pretended to be MSK.
Don't they see the seriousness in this issue?
Worse are those who take this as an opportunity to question and critise the actions of the Government. Some even commented that the Police advertisement chasing after the criminal should be changed as the criminal should be limping instead. And some even commented that the Gurkhas were incompetent for letting a guy with such a low physique escape.
I mean, Cmon! do you even know that ISD isnt the Police at all?
And do you know how skillful and loyal Gurkhas are? More than some Singaporeans for sure.
Get your facts right before you comment, for that mouth of yours might just bite you back in the ass.
So instead of contributing and helping, these group of people just find the whole event a funny one. Until something really bad happen to them or their family, will they then realise its not a laughing matter and start regretting.
Ok, so these guys are jerks. Yes, but proud i was to see many Singaporeans stepping in to offer watever help they can give.
Stuff like getting the posters from Police Stations for disseminating, people lending their trained dogs for the hunt, keeping a look out for him etc.
This is the kind of spirit Singaporeans should have when crisis occurs and not just contribute to the already much crap the country is facing.
We musnt let this crisis take a toll on our confidence, but instead use it as a chance to prove to the world that we're a little red dot to be reckon with.
May all of us work hand in hand to apprehend MSK and let this be a lesson learned.
Cheers.
